What is The Vintage Kilo Sale?
Founded in 2009 by stylist Judy Berger The Vintage Kilo Sale revolutionised retro shopping (for the better, we might add). Famous for events from Scotland to the South Coast, each Sale allowed guests to shop sixty years of style whilst paying for their pieces by weight. Packaged up at £15 per kilo, affordability and accessibility was at its core.
A decade on, and the desire is still strong for affordable, sustainable wares – but this time, we're going digital. Taking the old and making it new, our online shop will bring thousands of vintage kilo sale pieces to your screen. Flick through the rails, fill up your bag where prices start at £15 per kilo. Vintage shopping for the internet age – we think this is going to be big.
How do the online events work?
Sign up. Hit the rails. It’s as simple as that!
Our online kilo allows you to shop thousands of vintage pieces from the ‘60s-’00s as if you were there in the room (minus the elbows, mind). Simply create an account and start shopping.
For speed and ease, you can filter how you shop, with rails arranged by product type you can then select from the size filter. Each item is labelled with its cost (we upload all our items and weigh them first! You'll be paying £15 - £30 per kilo.
Why haven't I received a confirmation email?
Please add firstname.lastname@example.org to your address book, or check in your junk folder because your ticket confirmation may have gone in there.
Where are my items?
We aren't quite as fast as Amazon (yet) but we are trying! Please be patient. We do not offer next day delivery, and most orders are sent out within a few days of purchase. Do be mindful that during busy times we can process thousands of orders, and our team of real vintage-loving people are picking and packing up those orders and giving them a little sustainable nudge on their way. Please be patient with us while we learn how to transfer our event-based sales to a shiny new digital system!
How much is postage?
If your order is below 1kg, you will only pay £4.80 for postage. If you snap up between 1kg and 15kg, you will pay £6.60.
I'm a trader! How do I shop with you?
Please email email@example.com for a trader form. We do offer virtual appointments for traders with a minimum spend of £200 and we also offer product boxes in increments of 10kg.
Why do you discourage returns?
Of course we have to offer you a return if you're unhappy with your product, but every time we process a return our costs go up. We want you to get into a flow of being mindful when you shop to minimise the need for returns, and then mindful when something isn't right or doesn't fit. Could you stitch that tiny tear? Could you use a good cleaner to get that mark out? Does your BFF love that jumper you don't want? Could you upcycle it? If it's worth a few pounds could you donate it? Could you sell it on and make a little profit? The possibilities are endless! The more returns we have to process the more we may have to put our prices up! Help us keep the kilos at £15 and think before you shop, and then think hard before you return! We really appreciate it!
What can I expect to find on the rails?
Blouses and sweatshirts and denim, oh my! From ‘60s minis to ‘00s sweats, our rails span sixty years of style. Keep your eyes peeled for our branded rails too, with Adidas, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste and Levis in the mix.
Can I shop by size?
You bet you can. Make fruitless rummaging a thing of the past with our easy-to-use search filters. Not up to speed on those measurements? See our handy size guide here.
What can I get for a Kilogram?
That may lie in the eye of the bag-holder, but a complete outfit for £15 (or less!) is on the cards. Each product comes clearly labelled with its weight so you can see how close you are to a kilogram.
Our shop features some extra-special or hard to find styles which come at a higher cost-per-weight; select pieces by cult or designer brands are priced at £20, £25 or £30 per kilo.
You also never have to buy a full kilo; items can be bought individually if you’re exercising restraint (good on you) or just want to dip your toe.

Can I return an item?
We’ve been on the dating scene long enough to know that sometimes, something isn’t the right fit (even if it was your type on paper). We hope that your finds will be with you forever, whether that’s in your wardrobe or in another form. Look out for content on our social channels to see how you can give old pieces new life.
We would much rather you upcycle or re-gift the item you have bought with us so we don't have to raise the cost of our kilo's. But if you really aren't happy and you can't hand it to a friend or sell it on Ebay for a profit, or stitch up that small tear, then you can always contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you do have an issue, then of course we want to hear from you. Our pieces have sometimes lived a rich and full life and we would love you to repair them and bring them back to life, but we’ll of course do our best to make sure you’re satisfied.
Why should I shop second hand?
We believe that style is eternal and your clothes should be too. By shopping from the past, we can be kind to the future (whilst looking pretty fly in the process).
